Description
EPP Industrial Planetary Gearboxes
EPP industrial planetary gear units cover heavy process and material-handling duties with multiple shaft arrangements. The series combines planetary stages with optional bevel or helical gearing to provide coaxial, parallel-shaft, and right-angle layouts.

Interface Options
Published input arrangements include motor integration, IEC motor flange and adaptor, and keyed solid-shaft input. Output choices include keyed solid shafts, involute splined solid or hollow shafts, and hollow shaft with shrink disc. Auxiliary cooling, forced lubrication, torque arms, supports, and mounting bases can be specified where duty requires them.
Process-Duty Questions
Large industrial reducers should be sized around transmitted torque, start-up or jam torque, duty cycle, thermal dissipation, shaft loads, and foundation or torque-arm reactions. For conveyors, mixers, mills, and heavy process drives, the low-speed shaft interface can be as important as the ratio.
FAQ
Which EPP layout is most compact?
A coaxial N arrangement is typically the first option when input and output can share an axis. Parallel and right-angle variants solve different machine layouts.
When is forced lubrication required?
That depends on speed, mounting position, thermal duty, ambient conditions, and gearbox size. The final lubrication system must be confirmed during engineering review.
Can EPP use a hollow output shaft?
Yes. The published options include splined hollow shaft and hollow shaft with shrink disc.
Is 2,600 kN·m available on every size?
No. It is a published family envelope. Each frame and ratio has its own rating.
